  1. This was great advice Karen (as ever).

    It also explained something to me. When I was kid, no even as an adult, whenever I was carrying a lot of stuff to/from the table my dad would say “careful you don’t drop that” and most times I’d end up dropping something. I’d get cross with him and say “it’s your fault you shouldn’t have told me not to”. Now I know why I would drop things – brain screening out the negative ! I think I was also so nervous not to do it that it made it happen.

    And you’re so right about using jargon. I talk about teaching sector analysis and assume people know this is like doing a market study but they often have no clue what the word sector means.
